In the Bible, if we closely examine the New Testament, you will notice that the word for "friend" does not appear much in the text. Instead, once Jesus' ministry was through, and the early church was springing up, words like "brother," "sister," and "family" become much more prevalent and almost dominate the literary landscape of books such as Acts and the Epistles.
